Expert Tips For LED Growers
- Reduce watering - When growing with LED grow lights, your plants will need less water in comparison to what they would need if using HID grow lights such as HPS or MH grow lights. Reduce watering by half that of what you would normally water when using HID. For example, if you would normally water your plants 6 times a day using a particular grow system and medium under HID, reduce this to 3 with the same grow system under LED grow lights.
- Increase Nutrient Strength - When growing under LED Grow Lights, your plants will benefit from a 20-50% increase in nutrient strength as although they require less water than when grown under HID, they still require as much nutrients. The decrease in watering also decreases the frequency of nutrient delivery, so the extra strength will compensate.
- Correct Light hanging distance - Having your LED grow light the correct distance from your plant canopy will optimise the growth of your plants. Placing the light too far from the canopy will cause the plants to stretch and yield poorly. placing the light too close to the canopy will cause your plants to exceed light saturation point (L.S.P) which will in turn cause the plant to shut down and slow or stop growth. Find out what is the optimum distance for your light in the growth and bloom stages and keep your light close to optimum distances at all times.
